Operated by the Georgia Wildlife Resources Division, Rocky Mountain Recreation and Public Fishing Area is part of Plant Rocky Mountain, an Oglethorpe Power Corporation pumped-storage hydropower development in northwest Georgia.

Info

Although four lakes are on site, two of the lakes are operation pools closed to the public due to extreme water level fluctuations. The two open lakes serve as backup water storage for the generating system, and do not fluctuate on a regular basis. The two lakes open to the public, Heath Lake and Antioch Lake, are 202 and 357 acres respectively. A road causeway divides Antioch Lake into two sub-impoundments (east and west), but a boat tunnel connects the two halves. Antioch Lake and Heath Lake both offer excellent fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, crappie, channel catfish, and bullheads. Key species: largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish
